A Bold Beginning

Act Bold was founded in 2012 by Edo Cohen, co-founder of Flipswap, Inc. Edo helped transform Flipswap from a five-person startup into a major player in electronic recycling.

With clients including AT&T, Best Buy, Target, and Nokia, Flipswap earned national recognition. The company secured the No. 81 spot on the 2009 Inc. 500 list with an astounding 1,839.7% growth between 2005 and 2008. Edo also expanded Flipswap’s software distribution to more than 10,000 retail doors nationwide – all while he negotiated partnerships with leading online retailers like Newegg, Amazon, and Staples.

The growth attracted some serious investment. In October 2008, Flipswap raised $14 million in venture capital. By 2011, the company merged with eRecyclingCorps in a transaction led by Kleiner Perkins, which invested $35 million into the newly formed eRecyclingGroup.

This background was vital to the creation of Act Bold.

Turning Experience Into Impact

After Flipswap’s success and eventual sale, Edo gathered a select group of the company’s in-house marketing and web teams to launch a bold new venture. That same year, Eitan Zimerman joined as co-founder. As a recognized leader in technology and digital marketing, Eitan built the framework that drives today’s ecommerce and digital strategies at Act Bold.

Together, Edo and Eitan gave Act Bold a competitive edge. Their experience managing budgets, timelines, and high-growth expectations from the client side of the table shaped our mission. Now we provide every business with transparency, and dedication, not to mention creative strategy. These principles remain the foundation of Act Bold and the reason our client partnerships last.

Eitan Zimerman Joined as Co-Founder

Eitan Zimerman, co-founder, brought his digital and web expertise to lay the foundation for how to be Bold online. He thinks in 0’s and 1’s which has helped drive our technical expertise that so many in the industry seek out today.

2014

Act Bold checked off its first Conference Exhibition

Shall we take this to the next level?

After hiring Travis Gooden as the first account executive and promoting him to Director of Sales, we decided to take this ship to the open seas. We exhibited at our first conference called IRCE and met with 100’s of retailers that would open us up to lasting partnerships.

2017

Act Bold opened up massive office for expansion

Growth was inevitable

Act Bold’s team growth and company culture began to explode. Growth and expansion was on the horizon. We hit our 30+ employee mark and decided to upgrade. We moved to a large office building in Beverly Hills where the cold brew flowed like the Mississippi.

2025

Act Bold moved to Miami and Atlanta

Turmoil turned into Opportunity

The pandemic hit and doubt started to creep in. Through it all, we got back to our family roots and leaned on each other. eCommerce exploded after the first 6 months on lockdown and we grew like no other. It was time to graduate and we moved to Miami and opened up a satellite office in Atlanta. The pandemic brought about a hybrid working environment like we wouldn’t have envisioned, however this piece of the puzzle has increased productivity and brought amazing work-life balance to our employees.
